What happens after you submit
1. You submit a charter
Describe the need, the business case, scope, constraints and the outcome you expect. No tooling talk required.
2. IT reviews, steering decides
IT assesses feasibility, effort and dependencies. Three steering committee members then record Go, Kill, Hold or Refine.
3. You detail the requirements
Approved proposals come back to you for detailed requirements. IT revalidates and scopes them line by line.
4. It enters a sprint
Validated requirements are prioritised, assigned to the IT team against real capacity, and delivered through to UAT.
Project management
Before an idea becomes a project it is a proposal. Each gate has an objective, a set of deliverables and decision criteria — and one of four outcomes: Go, Kill, Hold or Refine.

Is the investment worth the projected return?
Finalised business case and signed project management plan.
Decision criteria: Stakeholder buy-in, formal sponsorship, clear success metrics.
Is the project still on track and still relevant?
Status reports, updated risk register, budget burn rates.
Decision criteria: Schedule and budget variance within tolerance, scope creep managed.
Is the deliverable actually ready for the real world?
UAT results, training material, transition-to-support and hypercare plan.
Decision criteria: Zero show-stoppers, operational readiness, final sign-off.
